Start your Day at our Deli

DeliMore and more people are enjoying the tastes and flavours of deli food from our local shop or market stall.  If you’re busy and always seem to be rushing when it comes to prepping your breakfast, lunch or evening meal, then you should look at deli food in a new way.

Think of a deli as a source for prepared ingredients that can jump start your recipes and save lots of time!  Slices of chicken are not only great in a sandwich, but they can also be spiced up in fajitas, enchiladas or quesadillas. You can add some cooked leftover ham to some pasta with few slices of cheese for a great lunch recipe.

What’s more, prepared meats can be transformed into hearty main dish recipes with just a few ingredients. These foods can become wonderful home cooked meals in very little time, with just a bit of imagination on your part – and some of our recommended recipes below.

Mini Roast Beef Pizzas

There’s nothing better than pulling a hot pizza out of the oven and cutting into it. The cheese oozes out, the crust is crisp and shatters when you bite into it, and the flavour of the sauce is perfect.

You can make the pizza sauce for this recipe mild or hot, depending on your tastes. If you like really spicy flavours, add some chopped jalapeno peppers, some cayenne pepper or chili powder.

You can, of course, add your own favourite toppings to this wonderful sauce. Everything from spicy chorizo and olives to sun dried tomatoes and a few slices of one of our Welsh cheeses.

Dauphine Potatoes with Ham

Dauphine potatoes are increasingly becoming a favourite among us Brits.  This basic baked dish combines a creamy seasoned sauces with sliced potatoes and diced cooked ham.

The potatoes are flavoured with the ham and cheddar cheese and can be served as an all-in-one casserole main dish with bread or with a simple tossed salad and home-made coleslaw.

BBQ Pork and Coleslaw Sandwich

For a delicious lunchtime or suppertime treat, try this recipe for a BBQ pork and Coleslaw sandwich. You don’t have to do much to create this extra filling treat; you can use our very own peppered belly pork instead of cooking the pork yourself and we can even provide the home-made coleslaw and speciality bread to make this sandwich extra special.
