Deli Ham Recipes
Baked Ham and Cheddar Sandwiches
This yummy recipe will be a winner with friends and family. Not only are the warm sandwiches easy to prepare, but they smell so good when baking that no-one will be able to resist them.
Ingredients – 8 Servings
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons mustard
1 tablespoon dried onion
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
2 to 3 teaspoons sugar
8 hamburger buns, split
8 slices Chedder cheese
16 thin slices (about 1 pound) of our home cooked and cured deli cooked Ham
1-1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
In a small bowl, combine the butter, mustard, onion, poppy seeds and sugar. Place roll bottoms, cut side up, in an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Top each with Cheddar cheese, ham and mozzarella. Brush with half of the butter mixture.
Replace roll tops. Brush with remaining butter mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Creamy Prosciutto Pasta – Serves 4
If you’re looking for a dinner that you can put together quickly, try this easy-to-prepare pasta dish. Just add crusty bread and a salad for a complete meal.
250g fresh fettuccine or linguine
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small onion, chopped
280 g fresh baby spinach
425g jar or Alfredo sauce
120g of our Welsh air dried ham, roughly chopped
Coarsely ground pepper, optional
Cook the pasta according to package directions; drain.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat; saute mushrooms and onion until tender. Stir in spinach just until wilted.
Stir in Alfredo sauce; cook until heated through, 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ham and fettuccine; toss to combine. If desired, top with pepper to serve.
Caramelized Ham & Sweet Buns
You can prepare these delicious buns in advance of lunch or supper and cook them quickly when you’re ready to eat. The combo of poppy seeds, ham and cheese, horseradish and brown sugar makes this recipe simply delicious.
Ingredients – 12 servings
12 sweet rolls, split
1/2 cup horseradish sauce
12 slices of our beech smoked air dried deli ham
6 slices hard cheese
1/2 cup butter, cubed
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon grain mustard
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1-1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Spread roll bottoms with horseradish sauce. Layer with ham and cheese; replace tops. Arrange in a single layer in a greased baking pan.
In a small skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over rolls. Refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350°. Bake, covered, 25 minutes. Bake, uncovered, 5-10 minutes longer or until golden brown.
